Sherdley Park Golf Club is a private club, founded in 1973, that plays its golf at Sherdley Park Municipal Golf Course in St Helens. The club exists to provide organised competitive golf throughout the year on one of the best courses in the North West. Members choose to play the main weekly competition on Friday, Saturday or Sunday morning. All members are eligible to enter all of the competitions, regardless of handicap. Members' handicaps range from 2 to 28 and most people find that playing regular competition golf improves their game. |

New members are welcome. There are no joining fees and for 2012 the annual subscription is £100. There is a special offer for 2012: Three friends can join for the price of two!!
The Tavern/"Cafe
in the Park", renovated in 2008, is open for business. Everybody is welcome to enjoy good food and drink in pleasant surroundings after their golf game.
You do not have to be a member to enjoy these facilities: the cafe and bar facilities are open to all.
The facilities are also available to hire for functions at reasonable prizes.

Hard luck to Derek McDonald and John Allen.
Derek and John entered the Golfers Club Matchplay Championships 2011 - 2012 (Road to Dubai)
The format was Matchplay pairs competitions of which there were 5 qualifying rounds before reaching the Northern Final.
They were successful in all qualifying rounds of which 4 of the five matches were away from home. Runcorn Golf Club, won after 21 holes. Sherdley Park, won on the hole 18 Warrington GC, won on hole18 Haydock GC, won 2 & 0 The Tytherington Club, won 3 & 2.
Derek and John played in the Northern Final staged at the Forest of Arden Golf Club on Tuesday 3rd April 2012. Unfortunately they failed to make the finals in Dubai, but they report having a great time.
